I Wanted To Help People
“I wanted to practice law because I thought it’d be interesting and because I wanted to help people,” Isaac said.
Most Proud of Family Tree Probate Trial
“I’m proud of all of my victories in the courtroom,” Isaac said. “But I think the victory I’m most proud of is a probate trial where I proved the family tree of a beneficiary who is the closest surviving relative of a person who died and they received a $2 million inheritance.
“I’m proud because that was the first trial I did. And I did all the preparation myself. I did the opening, I did the closing, and I did all the directs for every witness. And it wasn’t exactly like what I was expecting from all of the courtroom TV shows, but I was proud.”
Honesty, Even If Clients Don’t Want To Hear It
“My client philosophy is that I need to be honest with my clients all the time, even if they don’t want to hear it.”
No Guarantee of Outcomes
“The truth is in the law once you get in front of a judge, there’s no guarantee of any outcomes,” Isaac said “So, a lot of lawyers, they don’t really advise their clients of the risks for every action they take, the risk for going to trial, the risk for being in litigation in the first place.”
Strength And Risks Of Cases
“I always tell my clients the strength of their case,” Isaac said. “But I’ll always be upfront and tell them the risks because it’s up to the client to decide whether or not they want to take the risk and they need all the relevant information, whether it’s good or bad in order to make that decision.”
